Teething Ring

The teething ring is ready to use, Ainsley eagerly attempts it.

The cold was confusing to her, she isn't too sure she likes it.

After another try, she decided it was worth it.

Cute Hands

Ainsley's hands do the cutest things when she is asleep, here she is holding her passie with her hand

My sisters and me

We went to Target and had our pictures taken. This is the first time in a long time we had them professionally done all together....

We love to have fun, we love life, but most important we love each other.

Sweet girl.

More Introductions

This is Ainsley. She is my new little friend. I get to hang out with her Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm.
I started watching her last Thursday, and we had a good few days together. I enjoy getting to snuggle her during the days.
Jason keeps saying that watching her is going to cure my baby bug....but I think it might agitate it a bit more....
I will post things that Ainsley and I do here,
She is a sweet baby with a sweet disposition and snugly little body....I am having fun....and I am pretty sure I am in love with her already.

These are funny pictures, she wasn't sure how to take the flash.....but she does have some funny facial experssions....

So after reading it, doesn't sound as frustrating as I feel, I just know that...

today I was late, I hate being late

today I was stuck watching kids, I hate feeling forced to hang out with carpet crawlers

today I was scared for my life while someone drove me, I hate having to be at someone elses mercy

today I got nothing but jerky attitude from Aaron, because he is now 12 going on 25 and I hate his attitude lately

today I have to deal with Hershal (Jason's dad) staying here indefinitly and I hate to have him stay at all (see this post, it was about him)

today I was told I am being grumpy I hate being told that I am being grumpy, it makes me clam up and not talk to you.

today I had to deal with lots of kids touch my Christmas tree and rearrange the ornament, and I hate people to touch my masterpeice.

today I had to deal with people coming into my messy house and I hate people being here without my prior knowledge so I can clean up and act like I am always neat and orderly.

today I had to get directions over the phone, I hate doing that.

today I had to explain that Jason is phobic about marriage and thats why he hasnt asked me to marry him, I hate doing that too

today I had to buy last minute gifts, I hate doing that too, to me it is thoughless.

today I had to deal with being late, I hate being late. Did I mention that already??? oh yeah well I really hate it.

Um....there are more I hates, but I think that is enough therapy for today.

My thoughts on lights

Does anyone know Ashley Miller from Quincy Illinois? If you do, tell her about my blog, and tell her I want her to contact me....I miss my dear friend.
She is the only person who understands my thoughts on Christmas lights, and how some houses are decorated in a very White Trash manner.
We had the same taste in decor....especially in the Christmas realm.
Let me make a note.....if your house looks like what I am about to discribe, please don't be offended. It is my personal opinion. And yes, if I drive by your white trash decorations, I will probably think "oh WT". But don't change it because of me...I am sure that somethings I do is considered WT, I am just picky about Christmas lights....ha ha.
If your house has more lawn ornaments than the Christmas Aisle at Walmart
then you have WT lights

If your house has lights in a tree/bush that looks like a rainbow threw up on it,
then you have WT lights
If some of your lights blink and some don't and it isn't in a decorative manner
then you have WT lights
If someone can tell that the lights lining your house don't match, but you still have them strung like they do
then you have WT lights

If some of your lights are colored and some of them are white and you are hoping no one notices,

then you have WT lights

If your house looks like the Griswald

then you have WT lights

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving Day...

I cook a mean Thanksgiving dinner, if I do say so myself. On my list was:

Turkey
Mashed Potatos
Homemade Mac and Cheese (better known to the world as Macaroni Pie)
Cranberry Compote
Sweet Potatos
Corn on the cob
Peas
Homemade Fresh greenbeans
Watergate Salad (Green stuff, as it is known in our family)
Salad
Rolls (not from scratch)
Carrot Cake (from Scratch)

store bought pumpkin pie
store bought pecan pie

(and I think there was more, I just can't remember right this second)

And my mom brought ham
And my friend and her mom brough Veggie Tray, Fruit Tray and made a fruit dip to die for.

We had a yummy lunch, watched the cowboys win, and some of us (Shayda) took naps.

Again, this year, I did not take pictures. Last year I didn't have my camera, this year I wasn't talented enough to cook dinner, and be the photographer.

Is it bad, that it has been 5 days, and I still have a few Thanksgiving dishes to wash....yes, call me lazy.

I am thankful for many things in my life. The following only barely scrapes the surface of what I am thankful for:
My Family
My Friends
The love Jason has developed for me
My Relationship with Jason
Having a roof over my head
My Grandmother and her loving kindness.

*sigh*

I am thankful for having a blog that I can write my feelings, share my world, and document my days.

Thank you for reading!

Tammy Wynette Sour Cream Pound Cake

My boyfriend is a food-scrapbooker. He remembers his favorite people, time of year, or even moments with the food that was served.

For example, his Granny. She passed away two years ago, however her memory is held on strong by things she made, like her carrot cake (recipe and pic to come), and her pound cake.

I had to bug the people of Jason's family to get recipes so I cam make sure Jason is happy.

One of his favorite memories is drinking a glass of cold cold milk and eating a warm peice of Pound Cake. He would do this while chit chatting with his Granny late at night after he got off of work.

So here is the recipe, try it warm.....it is extra yummy!

Tammy Wynette Sour Cream Pound Cake

Cream Together

1 cup butter

3 cup sugar

6 eggs (Incorporate each egg seperatly, making sure to mix each well before adding another egg)

In a spereate bowl sift together

3 cup flour

1/4 t. baking soda

1/4 t. salt

One cup at a time, add the dry ingredients to the wet. When fully combined add the following

1/2 pint sour cream

3 T. lemon extract (or if you don't want it lemony, add vanilla extract instead)

Bake at 325* for one hour
** Funny Story**
When I made the pound cake in this picture Jason was teasing Aaron and my Grandma, saying "you better not eat my pound cake" And so I was trying to let Jason down easy, telling him I didn't think it tasted any good. Aaron then says "Layla, it was soooo good, when I burp I taste it and I am like yummmm"
Gross. ha ha. At least he thought it was good.

Revisited and Recapped: Halloween 2008

Introducing my handmade abilities with Aaron and his Kissing Booth Costume....

With the costume, Aaron chased down some teenybops trick or treating in the same area. He says that he wasn't following them, but he sure did stay right on their heels. Every house they went to he did too, and he was way ahead of us most the night.

Aaron Delia and Alyssa finished with Trick or Treating.

Alyssa and Delia during the trick or treating
Jason playing with a wig.....can we say DRAG QUEEN.....

Don't I just look HOT!

My Jackson and Me

On Nov 19th
Jackson and I had a fun time together. He talked about lots of stuff.... like how milk makes him grow, how he didn't learn anything at school that day, and he didn't get to go to the big kid class, he also let me know about his baseball, his cousins, his trip to Colorado and Utah, and oh so much more.

Here is a picture map of our night after dinner....

Jackson took a bath, and when I told him he looked silly with a mohawk he told me "Whatever second-cousin" ha ha ha.

He is soo funny, he has his night routine down...he brushed his teeth, put his chapstick on (all three flavors) and took a sip of water, without me having to remind him anything...what a smart cookie.

After reading some books, he kissed me on my cheek, and when I tried to take a pic of him kissing me I snapped at the wrong time and always got him looking like he is trying to bite me. He thought that was the funniest thing.

And right before lights out, we played a little round of catch with his stuffed glove and ball.....

Takio's Toy

We bought Taiko a fun new chew toy.....It is bigger than he is, but you wouldn't know by the way he attacks the thing...and I dare you to try to take it from him.

Blessings

Do you remember when I told you about the website that Texas has...you remember the website that tells you if you are owed any money...

Well, Jason had some money coming to him...and we got the check this week...

It couldn't have come at a better time.

We pay our tithes at church, we pay offering....and with $0 to our name, we were in between a rock and a hard place....and just as our faith became shakey and wavered, we got the check in the mail.

When we got it, I ran from the mailbox home to call Jason and tell him of our blessing. I sayed my thank you's to Heavenly Father....I cried a bit....said some more thank you's....and then we went out to eat. ha...

Thank you Heavenly Father!
Lesson you learned from this post....it pays to listen to Layla....
What are you waiting for, go check and see if you have some cash coming....

It might be fall time....ask the fireplace.

Just in case you were worried about my fall decor...here is what my fireplace looks like for now...it is the only festive decorations in the house, everything else is cluttered and messy...I need to get on top of that.

My Jackson Boy

The following are the emails I got on Monday morning....and it led to me having a euphoric stoked yay kinda day....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Morning!! Drew and I were wondering if you ever do any baby-sitting anymore? I know that you have a lot going on with your own little family, but are you ever able to get away to do some baby-sitting??Drew and I need to find someone to come to our house and watch Jackson on the night of the xxth (November) so that we can go to the Coldplay concert. Let me know if you have the time or are even interested.Jackson specifically asked about you : ) "
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and after I said yes....this is her response....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I am so excited...and I know that Jackson will be too!! We had told Jackson that we were going to ask you....even when Denice said she would come over, Jackson told her no and that his "cousin"Layla was going to come over and play. Too cute : ) We were just crossing our fingers that you would actually be available and interested in coming over.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't even understand how much I love this little boy. It was and continues to be love at first sight.

I stayed all night and into the early morning to be there when the family can see the baby, after Liz gave birth the day after Christmas (other than doctors, nurses and mom and dad, I was the first person to hold this cutie after birth...so I know I am his favorite.) When I held him for the first time I cried like a baby...he was breathtaking...(and already too cool for the world, love the gansta pic!)

Here are a few times I babysat him, and we took pictures together....he was very willing.

Not that these are the most recent of pictures, honestly they are all about a year old or so (the first one a few years old..)...but still, I love him...see.....

I love My Jackson Boy!

PreSeason Game And Live TV

Veida and I went to the Dallas Mavericks PreSeason Game....we had fun.

I had a busy day doing..errr...I mean helping...Jason finish his final project for a class....Jason had his final to take Thursday night, so even though she wasn't feeling well, Veida was a trooper and wanted to go.

We ate food....and more food....made fun of people....yelled at the Mavericks....

The Mavs lost....but it was just a preseason game, surely they will go all the way this year.....*crosses fingers* We have decided that because we were so high up, the Mavs couldn't hear us yelling at them telling them how to play the game, so next time, we will just have to sit closer.

And we attempted to crash the News Broadcast at "Victory Station" aka American Airlines Center. We were there with lots of drunk people from the game...we didn't have success, but it was fun yelling and screaming for their attention.
